This is also in conjunction with the fact that Hoka is 5mm drop whereas you are likely used to a higher drop but I obviously don't know that for sure. I don't think it's something the physio can definitively say that the Arahi won't work for you but the above suggests why it may not. That being said, it could work for you and it could help your
The flip side of the above logic is that minimal shoes might help things for the knee at the expense of the lower leg. You work the calf and Achilles harder but run with effectively a better shock absorber under your knee. Proper functioning body being a better absorber than shoe foam.
Price: Β₯568.00 -- $77.79. Style: Hoka Tor Ultra Hi 2 WP (Shape closer to original release, not 2 or 3 edition re-releases) Color: Black. Fit: 42 Slightly small / narrow, interior has lots of padding. If you donβt mind a snug fit order TTS otherwise half size up. Accuracy: Hard to say.
Hoka Bondi 8 vs Clifton 8 vs Gaviota 4 vs Arahi 6. I'm in the market to replace my Vans Ultrarange Rapidweld, which is my daily work shoe. The Vans were a temporary upgrade from my 4 yr old Cole Hahn sneakers, which were giving me spasms on my paraspinals. I'm a 5'8" 150-160lb reasonably fit doctor with flat feet, and I spend most of my time
Dim1970 β’ 3 yr. ago. brooks more durable, more plush, better quality overall, hokas are lighter, more fun, bouncy, more breathable. 6. DepressedBird1 β’ 3 yr. ago. I have the Adrenaline 20s and Hokas (carbon x). The Cliftons are much more similar to the Brooks than the Carbon Xs though. If you go on trails and roads, I would get the brooks
Heavy Supination: Hoka Gaviota. Saucony Omni. Brooks Addiction. Start out with the Light to Moderate category and if that isn't working, move onto the Hoka Gaviota. If that still isn't good, then it is time for the big and hard boys. r/RunningShoeGeeks.
The 7's were supposedly really popular for plantar fascitis. They still have tons of cushioning, but they fit totally differently from the 7. The 7 was almost a "straight last". The 8 definitely isn't. It runs narrower and doesn't have nearly the volume inside as the 7.

Initial impressions - to be honest, one of disappointment. Despite all the rave reviews on YouTube and so forth, they don't feel anything special to me. They're neither super-cushioned nor super-responsive. Just very very average. I'm not getting much pop or bounce. They feel soft under foot - a bit like running in sand, but in a bad way.
The new balance more V3s are an excellent alternative but skew a little between a Clifton/ Bondi replacement. The new balance 1080 is a reasonable alternative if wanting to replace the Clifton but maybe skew faster. Both are far more durable ( like double the miles)than the Hoka alternatives but the ride is not quite as sweet
The Hoka Speedgoat 5 is a fantastic, slightly lighter upgrade to the Speedgoat 4 with a new, sock-like mesh upper made from recycled materials, excellent midsole rebound, great traction and grip
Those shoes are one of the options I considered after using the New Balance Fresh Foam More v3; that is ok. The only question is if the midsole on the toe part of the foot is ok enough; my reference is the More v3. I'm waiting for the Nike Zoom Fly 4 with a stack height in the forefoot greater than the Arahi.
I am ~130lbs 5'9" and I run around 40 mpw mainly road with maybe one 10-12 mi trail long run every week. I hope to get at least 300 miles with these shoes and was wondering what you guys recommend. The Hoka seems strong with being lightweight but the Novablast's foam looks really good for longer runs.
